This is a 8-week online acting course broken up into 8 easy to follow modules. You’ll get access to the exclusive StageMilk Drama Club which we will use as a discussion platform and a community page for the course. You’ll receive 1 Module per week including a video tutorial and other resources on the Monday of each week. It all begins Monday 26th June 2017 until Monday 21st August 2017. This is a visual course, that aims to teach through engaging you and exciting you to become a great actor. Luke and Andrew work with you every step of the way. Personal feedback is offered to make sure you are growing as an actor. Click each module below to see more about each week! The two core teachers in this course are Luke McMahon and Andrew Hearle. Both teachers are drama school trained, professional actors. As well as sharing their own knowledge, Luke and Andrew have enlisted a number of experts to take part in the course including Gabrielle Rogers, a leading voice and dialect coach. Lisa Scott-Murphy a movement coach and Chris Edmund, a leading industry expert. Core Teacher – Luke has worked professionally in commercials, voice over, theatre, television, and film, most recently Hacksaw Ridge. Core Teacher – Andrew is the founder of StageMilk.com, a professional actor and a graduate of The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. Voice Expert – A voice and dialect coach who has been working in the theatre, film and television industries for over 15 years. Has taught at NIDA, ACA and WAAPA. Acting Expert – Former head of Acting for 25 years at the prestigious Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, where he taught the likes of Hugh Jackman and Jai Courtney. Movement Expert – A movement specialist for over 30 years, a master teacher and expert in body image, physical awareness, confidence and learning for stage and film. Actor/Entertainer – Tanika Anderson is a professional dancer, actor, and presenter. She has recently finished working as part of HI-5. Professional Actor – Damien has worked professionally on countless Shakespeare productions. He is currently working with the highly regarded Bell Shakespeare Company. Theatre Expert – Artistic Director of Red Line Productions (Old Fitz Theatre), Australia’s leading independent theatre company. Andrew is an actor, director and producer. Actor/Producer/Director – Rosie is best known for her role in the web series Starting from… Now! Which she co-produced. Rosie comes to StageMilk as an expert slashie. Shakespeare Expert – Artistic Director of Sport for Jove Theatre Company, one of Australia’s leading Shakespearean theatre companies. Damien is also a professional actor. Talent Agent – Natalie Duarte is a leading acting agent at Focus Talent Management. Natalie represents many of Australia’s top actors and performers. Professional Actor – Love Child, Gallipoli, Anzac Girls, and Home and Away. Travis has also worked on major films including Angelina Jolie’s Unbroken and Pirates of the Caribbean. Professional Actor – Australian actor most well known for her role on Channel 10’s Wonderland, as well as Home and Away and Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries. Showreel Expert – Dean Francis a multi-award winning director, producer and cinematographer and the CEO of jj splice films. “The actor is an athlete of the heart.” Antonin Artaud, The Theatre and Its Double Training is essential for early career actors. Natural talent and good looks are great, but a technical foundation is the only way to guarantee a long and healthy career. Acting is a craft; a skill. And like any skill it can be developed. Of course some people come to it with more confidence or certain strengths, but everyone can develop as an actor. Hard work and training is the only way to develop as an actor. But we’re not greedy. We genuinely want to help soon-to-be professionals improve their craft. So whether you’re keen to train with us, or somewhere else, do it! Training is vital for your acting career. Daily work is an important aspect of acting, we teach you what you should be doing each day to train and improve on your own. Everything you need to know that we got out of drama school. Both Luke and Andrew will be available the entire way through the course. They will give individual feedback and work with you to make sure you are developing as an actor. We go over everything you need from nailing auditions to getting an agent and how to land your first role. We cant get you the roles but we can give you everything you need to smash it on your own. Each week starting on the 26th of June we will send out a link to the new course material on our website. In your own time during the week you can go over the videos and module materials and take in the lesson. Then you will be asked to do some work on your own and post about it on the group page and discuss with Luke and Andy.
